Laurie Lipton. Man, I almost didn’t want to discuss this marvelous lady. This New York born, and now London living, artist’s stuff is terrifying. Her drawings are masterpieces to behold, her lines are crazy intricate. The detail in her work is outstanding, I’m sure closeup would only garner more respect - for the time she’d have to put in to compete one of her pieces.

I hate to sound like I’m blowing smoke… Then again, if anything at all, I’d be blowing a darkly-misting fog in an old, black and white, Noire-type, graveyard - and that’d be a complement, to miss Laurie Lipton.

Some of Lipton’s work reminds me of  Victorian post-mortem photography, and religious art from the middle ages; worth a browse if you get the chance. Her short bio will outline who she is, and what her style of illustration represents, imitates. Although, if you want to fully understand Laurie, her beliefs, and the true meaning behind her art, I highly recommend reading into some of her exhibits, or watching a few interviews on TubeYou… YouTube.

I’d quite literately buy one of her original works, if I wasn’t sure it’d give me nightmares. Although, perhaps the nightmares would be worth it. I’m not exaggerating either.

Laurie’s designs are also displayed on some t-shirts over at ALLSAINTS - so, if you like, you could wear her shirt-skulls, and tarot-styled illustrations as well.

RELP MREE, RAGGY!
